Joan Carroll-Cronin, BFA, MSW, LICSW, RLP®Joan is a catalyst for knowledgeable, innovative, and strategic partnership. She brings to her consulting and coaching work not only deep and wide experience, but also the creativity and indomitable energy that are her hallmarks. A wealth psychology coach & consultant, registered life planner, and veteran clinical therapist, Joan is also an arts patron, a dedicated equestrian, a running & tennis enthusiast, and a former theater artist and New England ranked marathoner.

Her background in the behavioral psychology of finance and estate administration allows Joan to understand the significance and impacts of issues that arise in financial planning and asset management for individuals and families of significant wealth. In addition to having completed post-graduate coursework in economics at Harvard University, Joan has achieved certification as a Registered Life Planner at the Kinder Institute. As a consultant to financial advisors, she has developed affiliations with major investment banks and other organizations serving trust clientele and families of wealth.

Joan’s psychological expertise and clinical experience give her insight into the dynamics of individual and family functioning, and the tools and judgment to effect practical solutions. Her extensive work in psychology and mental health care includes 20+ years in clinical practice, supervision of interns and psychiatric staff, and authorship of scholarly articles and training manuals, as well as affiliations with Harvard Medical School, McLean Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Joan’s clinical expertise and training have focused on family systems work, and on couples’ and individual therapy.

Joan’s arts-related training and experience offer clients ready access to the roles and possibilities of intuition, communication, multiple intelligences, and myriad perspectives in problem solving. Having studied visual art and theater, and after receiving her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Joan performed professionally in classical and contemporary theater productions throughout the U.S. for nearly a decade.

Joan also coaches individuals for optimal performance and enhanced presentation skills. She has taught the Alexander Technique to business professionals, performing artists, and athletes, and uses its subtle power of mindfulness in her coaching and clinical work.
